Puns and Metaphore are my Bread and Butter

I’m about to login to GM the opening minutes of TR and I was reminded of a conversation I had this evening with some other programmers. This is a post without any real intent but to perhaps sum up some thoughts of late.

It feels good to finally get another large project out the door. There is so much left to do but even though the buglist looms larger and the todolist ceases to extend there is a pressure that has been released.

My main hope now is that I would have more time to tend to the needs of my family, home and intellectual curiosity. It’s a bit uncomfortable to feel like I’m stealing time from work when it’s past midnight on a day that I’ve already worked at least 12 hours. There will be a long unwinding process hopefully. Part of that is going to involve completing the re-finishing of a certain dining room table that has been in progress for the past 3 years. A vacation hopefully is in the works this holiday and I have been ‘stealing’ moments to hack small bits of lisp and ruby code.

I don’t think I’ll get the 6 week trip to Mexico this time around but maybe some equally valid ideas will be forthcoming.
